In DAY4 Dawson explores the theatrical ideas of destruction and transcendence. By creating a mini time shift, our eye is drawn to visions of a future and a time when humanity dominates the reason to exist. A place where everything sits so delicately out of balance, and begs for simplicity.
The gesture of connection from one human being to another, stripped down to its purest and most honest. With this work Dawson gives us a glimpse of danger, trust, loneliness, and a love that lies almost buried in its own dusty darkness. With music composed by Englishman Greg Haines, DAY 4 is created especially for the Dutch National Ballet 50 year anniversary.
